What Is AssetStacc Fleet Asset-Management Software?

AssetStacc is a fleet asset-management and maintenance operations platform for businesses that own, maintain and must keep legal a mixed fleet of vehicles and equipment.

What AssetStacc is

AssetStacc is software for the maintenance side of a fleet. It holds the record of every asset a company owns, the schedule that keeps each one serviced and legal, the inspections performed on it, the work done to it, the parts consumed, the technician hours spent, and the estimate, work order, invoice and receipt attached to that work.

It is used both by companies maintaining their own fleets and by shops and mobile service businesses maintaining fleets for others. Each subscribing business operates in its own separated workspace with its own users, customers, assets, pricing and records.

Who it is designed for

  • Construction and site-work companies running mixed fleets of trucks, trailers and machinery
  • Trade contractors — electrical, plumbing, HVAC, landscaping — with service vehicles to keep legal and running
  • Trucking and delivery operations subject to federal annual and California 90-day inspection requirements
  • Municipal, agricultural and rental fleets tracking hours, intervals and permanent asset history
  • Repair shops and mobile service businesses that maintain other companies' fleets

Problems it solves

Maintenance history lives in three places

Every inspection, repair, part and invoice attaches to the asset record, so the vehicle's history is one timeline instead of a spreadsheet, a filing cabinet and someone's memory.

Inspection deadlines are tracked by hand

Federal annual records, carrier 90-day inspections, Clean Truck Check, registration and permit dates run on interval schedules with overdue alerts per asset.

The estimate and the invoice disagree

Estimates convert into work orders, work orders into invoices and receipts, carrying the same lines, labor, parts, taxes and discounts forward.

Parts cost is invisible until month end

Parts carry internal cost and customer retail separately, so job profitability is calculated from real numbers rather than estimated after the fact.

Customers call to ask for status

The customer portal shows their own assets, requests, approvals, documents and invoices — scoped strictly to their records.

Vehicle and equipment classes supported

Passenger vehicles and light-duty trucksMedium-duty trucks and box trucksHeavy-duty trucks and tractorsTrailers of all typesConstruction machinery and off-road equipmentGenerators, compressors and miscellaneous shop assets

Mixed fleets are the normal case, not an exception: a single workspace can hold pickups, semi-tractors, trailers and excavators with the intervals and inspection programs each one actually needs.

AssetStacc Mobile Service

A service business, not software. AssetStacc technicians travel to yards and job sites in the Greater Sacramento area for inspections, diagnostics, preventive maintenance and commercial vehicle compliance work.

Maintenance management software vs telematics

Telematics answers where a vehicle is, how it is being driven and what the engine is reporting right now. That is real-time operational data, and it is useful.

Maintenance management answers a different question: what has been done to this asset, what is due, what it costs to keep, who worked on it, what parts went into it, whether it is legal to operate, and what it was billed for. That record has to survive years and ownership changes.

AssetStacc is the second kind of system. Telematics providers can be connected as a data source — odometer and engine-hour feeds keep service intervals honest — but the platform is not a GPS product and does not present itself as one.

How implementation works

  1. 1. Create the workspace and invite the users who need access.
  2. 2. Import or enter assets: VIN, unit number, plate, meter reading and class.
  3. 3. Set preventive-maintenance intervals and the inspection programs you are subject to.
  4. 4. Add customers, labor rates, parts pricing and tax settings.
  5. 5. Run the first inspections and work orders; history builds from that point forward.
  6. 6. Turn on the customer portal and payments when you are ready.
